Invitation for Feedback: Reform of Criminal Laws in Malaysia (Criminal Law Reform Committee - CLRC)

Dear AAS Members,

We are pleased to inform you that the Advocates Association of Sarawak (AAS) is one of the committee members of the Criminal Law Reform Committee (CLRC), established by the Bahagian Hal Ehwal Undang-Undang (BHEUU), Prime Minister's Department. The CLRC is chaired by the Honourable Federal Court Judge, Tan Sri Datuk Harmindar Singh Dhaliwa.

Our Mr. Boston Ho is representing AAS on the CLRC.

The CLRC is tasked with reviewing and proposing reforms to key criminal laws in Malaysia, specifically:

Penal Code [Act 574]
Criminal Procedure Code [Act 593]
Evidence Act 1950 [Act 56]

We now invite and strongly encourage all AAS members to provide their opinions, proposals, and feedback on these laws. You are welcome to raise issues you believe should be amended, repealed, or improved, including any references, case examples, or supporting materials that can strengthen your recommendations.
